Measure before you buy
Measure deck length along the boards and width across the rows. This is a surface material estimate; a safe structural plan needs site-specific framing details.

Use feet for project length and width. Break irregular areas into rectangles and calculate each one.

Adjust the allowance
Change the starting 10% for the layout, cuts, spillage, and site conditions you expect.
The math
How this estimate is calculated
Rows = width ÷ (board width + gap), rounded up. Multiply by whole boards per row and your waste allowance. Exposed screws assume two at each joist crossing.
